Phone-y Business

After a long selection process, I finally got Amy and I new phones. We switched to Cingular just before Christmas and everything is going great. My new phone takes videos, pictures, plays mp3s, has a radio, bluetooth, expandable memory, and the list goes on. It's great. Oh, except that I lost it after less than a week.

It seems that New Year's Eve, beer, and my phone did not make a great combination, because when I woke up the next morning, all of them were gone. I'm clinging onto the hope that the phone will turn up somewhere, but it's not looking good.

For now, I'll have to use the backup phone we got for free when we signed up. It's features include:

- Can make phone calls

Pretty sweet. Almost as good as that first one. Hopefully I'll learn my lesson next time.

What do you mean "learn my lesson next time"? Don't you remember why you had to buy a new digital camera? hello?!?!?!

Here's the culprit: Shallow pockets and small, slick, slippery cell phones. With the invention of the cell phones, all pants should now have pockets that go down to the knee. Someone call Levi, Banana Republic, and Dockers to make this a priority for this year's latest fashion. Having cell phone signals so close to the crotch can't be healthy anyhow.

Well, the camera was a "freak occurance," so there was no lesson to learn. This establishes a pattern.

As for the pockets, I couldn't agree more. I have a pair of Gap pants with a pocket just for cellphones in the thigh, and I love them. Can't find any other pants like them, though. I even tried buying some off eBay.

$12 for one label? No thanks. I'll just get some packing tape and a Sharpie.
