This past weekend, Amy and I travelled through space, time, and geekiness to the annual Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY. Each year, thousands of people in the area put down their Dungeons and Dragons dice and head out to the Faire, to dress up and take part in such Rennaissance activities as archery, knife-throwing, and paying $5 for beer. They dine on traditional Rennaissance cuisine like Turkey legs, Mead, Pizza and Curly Cheese Fries.

Actually, I really had a good time. I was expecting to see 400 men dressed up like Gandalf and some embarrassed-looking actors who were desperately hoping not to be recognized by their high school friends. But I was actually surprised that everyone (well, almost everyone) was pretty normal, even the ones who were dressed up. And I even ran into my friend Brian.

Oh, and I figured out pretty early on that if you tip anyone serving beer, they yell out "Huzzah!" So I tipped everybody.

I put a few Renaissance Faire Pictures up in my photo gallery, if you're curious.

So, all in all, it was fun. I even got a +2 consitution and 200 Experience Points for going.

The correct phrase would be "I even got a +2 to my Constitution.".

And give yourself another 300XP for roleplaying!

Frightening that you even know how to reference Dungeons & Dragons at the end of your entry. ;)

Well, technically, I referenced it incorrectly (as pointed out above), but that was only because the sleeve of my wizard robe was making typing difficult.
